The knot above is the Scout's first knot they could potentially wear on their uniform. The United Methodist Church amongst many other Christian Churches partner with Pray Pub to foster faith in our youth.
This knot is the Scouter Religious knot that may be provided to a leader by Knightdale United Methodist Church. An example of earning this knot may be by teaching the various courses offered by Pray Pub. Learn more on our Adult Awards and Recognition page.
By completing at least one course during the Scout's tenure as a Pack member, either the God & Me or the God & Family program, will earn the Scout their first knot! A very important knot in their journey.
The God and Me curriculum is designed to help children become best friends with Jesus and tell their story of “God and Me” together.
Children will make a game in each lesson and keep their games in a GAMEBox (God And Me Exploring BOX). These games will reinforce the Bible lessons and provide opportunities for families to explore God's love together.
(Full requirements are found in the P.R.A.Y. Booklets)
The God and Family curriculum is designed to help youth understand the importance of family and God’s role in a healthy family.
Children will compare families and “pizza.” The six steps for making pizza will give students a concrete, “hands-on” model on which to build their understanding of God’s love for their families. They will make a pizza as they study how families can grow together in God’s love, and they will choose “family projects” to be done with their family at home.
